Visiting Team Information

Cal Maritime Sports Medicine welcomes you and your team to campus for our upcoming event, please use this website as a resource for your trip to Vallejo. Additional information is available by accessing Cal Maritime Athletic and Physical Education Department's Visitor's Guide

The main athletic training room is located on the first floor of the Physical Education and Aquatics Center; a satellite training room, located at Bodnar Field's southwest corner, is available for soccer games. Both training rooms are availabe for your team's use starting two hours prior to competition, unless other arrangements are requested in advance.

A certified athletic trainer is on site for all home athletic events with appropriate emergency and first aid equipment, do not hesitate to contact Cal Maritime Athletics at klyoder@csum.edu if you have any comments, questions or concerns regarding our upcoming contest. 

Treatments
Cal Maritime or visiting training staff can perform required treatments during the two-hour timespan leading up to the start of competition. The main athletic training room is equipped with an electrical stimulation unit, ultrasound, hydrocollater, and ice modalities.

A certified athletic trainer is available before, during, and after competition. Should your team travel without an athletic trainer, please provide necessary taping supplies provide specific written instructions for athletes requiring special care and/or treatment.

What to Expect in Your Locker Room

  • Water and cups
  • Showers (Unfortunately, Cal Maritime Sports Medicine is unable to provide towels for showering, teams must bring their own.) 

What to Expect on Your Bench/Sideline

  • Water and cups and/or bottles
  • Injury ice and bags
  • Towels
  • Blood kit

Emergencies
If emergency or urgent medical care is needed or warranted, multiple facilities are located in the area. Crutches, splints, slings, and other emergency equipment is available on site, if needed.
