Associate Athletics Director Monica Heuer joined Cal Maritime Athletics in August, 2022, from Moreau Catholic High School where she served as the director of athletics.

Before joining Moreau Catholic, Heuer was the Associate Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Evergreen State College.

In addition to her experience as an administrator, she also coached women's basketball at the NCAA and NAIA levels and served in the Cascade Conference office.

Responsible for Cal Maritime's recreation and intramurals programs, Heuer works with campus sports clubs that are included in the department and serves as the principal liaison for maintenance and risk management for all athletics and recreation facilities. Not only does Heuer lead the Student-Athlete Advisory Council and Athletics' community engagement efforts, she is the department's principal DEI liaison and a sport supervisor for six intercollegiate athletic programs: men's and women's basketball, men's and women's crew, men's and women's cross country. 

Heuer earned an undergraduate degree in physical education from Cal State Hayward (now known as Cal State East Bay) and her master's degree in sports and fitness management from the University of San Francisco.
