National Tournament Bracket Released, Keelhaulers Face Dordt
The California Maritime Academy men's basketball team made history Tuesday night by winning the Cal Pac conference championship for the first time in school history. The 89-69 victory over Holy Names University was the 14th straight victory for Cal Maritime and earned the Keelhaulers a spot in the NAIA National Tournament in Branson, Missouri starting March 7th.
"Our student-athletes have worked extremely hard this year and it is fantastic they are able to experience the reward of playing in the National Tournament. The city of Branson and the College of the Ozarks do a tremendous job hosting the tournament. We are excited to have the opportunity to represent Cal Maritime in a positive light and we greatly appreciate the tremendous support we have received, " commented Head Coach Bryan Rooney.
Cal Maritime will open up with Dordt University from Iowa. Dordt is the fourth ranked team in the country and sports a 28-4 overall record. Game time on March 7th is scheduled for 11:45am PST.
