This Week: The Keelhaulers drew Northwestern College in the first round of the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Tournament. The first round begins on Wednesday and the Keelhaulers-Red Raiders match-up is on Thursday at 11:45 am (PST).

Scouting the Keelhaulers: CSU Maritime won the California Pacific Conference tournament championship with a 24-6 overall record and a 7-3 record in conference play. Senior Keven Campbell leads the Keelhaulers in scoring with 13.2 points per game.

Scouting the Red Raiders: The Red Raiders clinched the Great Plains Athletic Conference regular season championship with a 24-6 overall record and a 17-3 record in conference play. Senior Ben Miller leads the Red Raiders in scoring at 18.4 points per game.

Last Time Out: This is the first meeting between the two schools this season. They have one common opponent in Valley City State University. The Keelhaulers defeated the Vikings 85-80 on December 29^th, 2012 in Whittier as a part of the Poet Classic hosted by Whittier College. The Red Raiders lost to the Vikings 76-70 on November 2^nd, 2012.

National Appearances: This is CSU Maritime's second trip to the National Tournament and they have a 0-1 record in their prior appearances. This is Northwestern's sixteenth appearance in the National Tournament. They have a 29-13 record in their prior appearances with two national championships.

Getting To Know Northwestern College: Northwestern began as an academy in 1882. It was upgraded to junior college status in 1928 and it became a four-year college in 1961. It is affiliated with the Reformed Church in America.

About The Coaches:

Bryan Rooney is in his sixth year of coaching men's basketball at CSU Maritime and tenth overall. Prior to CSU Maritime, Rooney was an assistant with Claremont Mudd Scripps, San Francisco State University and Dominican University.

Kris Korver is in his twelfth year coaching at Northwestern. He is the winningest coach in the Red Raiders' programs history.
