Keelhaulers Finish Season in Top 25

The California Maritime Academy men's basketball team was ranked in the final NAIA Postseason Basketball Coaches' Poll that was released today by the NAIA national office in Kansas City.

Cal Maritime Academy was ranked #23 by the coaches. The Keelhaulers advanced to the "Sweet 16" in the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship with a 76-54 win over then #4 Northwestern College of Iowa. The Keelhaulers' season ended with a loss to Final Four participant Grace College of Indiana. The Keelhaulers finished six points behind #22 Madonna University and fifteen points ahead of #24 Tennessee Wesleyan University. The Keelhaulers finished the 2012-2013 season with a school record 25-7 overall record including the California Pacific Conference tournament championship.

Cal Maritime graduates six seniors, including All Conference performers Keven Campbell and Howie Manzo, but hopes are high for the 2013-14 season with several key returners leading the way.
