Grant Blaser Named Player of the Week

Grant Blaser topped Cal Maritime in scoring last week, guiding the No. 17 Keelhaulers to two critical road wins and sole possession of first place in the California Pacific Conference. His timely offense and steady defense earned him Player of the Week distinction in men's basketball.

Blaser, a senior out of Red Bluff, Calif., has led Cal Maritime in scoring all season. He has been steady from the three-point line, near perfect from the free throw line, and has consistently hit big shots for the Keelhaulers. Last week, in road wins at Simpson and William Jessup—two teams right on the heels of CMA—Blaser averaged 16 points over the span, hitting 47% of his shots and 5-of-11 (46%) from the beyond the arc. For the year, Blaser ranks fifth in the conference in scoring (14.2 points per game), first in 3-pointers made (70), second in 3-point percentage (42.4%), and has hit 89.4% of his free throws.
