Cal Maritime Represented Well with All Conference Selections
Dalton Thacker, who led Simpson to an 8-2 California Pacific Conference record and 16-14 overall mark, was named the Player of the Year in a vote by conference coaches. He leads a list of five other seniors and four juniors who were selected to the Cal Pac's First Team. Only Pacific Union'sJordan Greenwellis a repeat mention on the First Team.

Thacker, a Second Team pick last season and Freshman of the Year two years ago, led the Red Hawks in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. He also had a team-high 75 assists. He finished second in the conference in scoring average, field goal percentage (.409), and fifth in assists per game (2.5). He recorded three double-doubles on the season.
In other awards meted out by Cal Pac coaches, Simpson'sJim Holcombwas named the Coach of the Year. In his second season in Redding, Calif., Holcomb has led the Red Hawks to a 17-5 Cal Pac record over the past two campaigns.
Another Simpson standout,Anthony Williams, was selected as the Defender of the Year. The senior forward not only led

the Cal Pac in steals, (64), but he ranks 11thin the country in that category, as well as 17thin steals per game (2.133). Williams also averaged 10.8 points per game and grabbed 4.8 boards per contest.
Pacific Union guardGreg Browngets the nod as Newcomer of the Year after leading the conference in scoring with a 17.4 average. He also led the Cal Pac in free throw percentage (.745) and 3-point field goals (55), he was second in 3-point percentage (.390), third in field goal percentage (.390), and tied for fourth in steals (39). He turned in the biggest scoring performance of the year, registering 38 points against Holy Names back in November.
Menlo'sMIkey Eggletonwas voted the Freshman of the Year by the Cal Pac Coaches. The first-year point guard was eighth in the conference in scoring (11.2), third in free throw percentage (.717), third in assists (74). He led the Oaks in scoring and assists.
