Keelhaulers Advance to Championship Game
Top-seeded Cal Maritime advanced to the California Pacific Conference tournament championship game with an 84-72 winner over Antelope Valley semi-final action. The championship game will be played Tuesday, February 28, at Cal Maritime in Vallejo, Calif. Tip-off is set for 7:30pm.
The Keelhaulers, 20-11 on the season, got up by double digits numerous times, but the relentless Pioneers never gave in, cutting the margin back down to single digits for much of the second half, and getting as close as two points, at 58-56 with 11:13 left in the game. But CSUM pulled away at that point, pushing the lead to 11 points five minutes later following a 13-4.
The Pioneers cut the lead back to seven on a 3-pointer by Ezekiel Armstrong with 2:03 remaining, but the Keelhaulers made enough free throws over the final two minutes to close out with an 8-3 run.

Phil Randles added 16 points, hitting 6-of-9 from the floor--including both of his treys--Adam Armstead chipped in 15 points, and Justin Eisen hit four threes and finished with 12 points.
