Impressive performance leads to Cal Pac Player of the Week honors for Eric Norton

VALLEJO, Calif. – For the second time in as many opportunities this season, a Keelhauler earned Men's Basketball Player of the Week distinction from the Cal Pac Conference. Amil Fields earned the inaugural award on December 6, and Eric Norton is the recipient of the conference's second, as announced by league officials on Monday.

In last Sunday's game vs. Bushnell, the East Palo Also native led all players with 22 points on 8 of 13 shooting from the floor. The junior guard also hit 5 of 7 shots from the line, collected five rebounds and a team-high three assists in Cal Maritime's come-from-behind victory.

Down by as many as 11 points, Norton fueled his team's second-half charge as the Keelhaulers erased their deficit and led by a game-high nine points en route to a 96-89 victory versus the Beacons.

Norton scored 20 of his points after halftime throughout his 17 minutes played, which helped Cal Maritime finish with a season-high points total.

Cal Maritime will close its current four-game homestand on Tuesday, December 14, when it hosts Holy Names in a 7:30 p.m. exhibition contest at PEAC Main Gym.
