VALLEJO, Calif. – An exciting week of events is slated to take place inside PEAC Main Gym this week when the Keelhaulers conclude their five-game homestand with another pair of Cal Pac Conference games on Thursday versus Westcliff and Saturday against Saint Katherine. Tip times are set for 7:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.

An opportunity for Cal Maritime Athletics and Physical Education will also take place at halftime Thursday night when the department honors (in alphabetical order) Dr. Khalid Bachkar, Thomas Brindle, Dr. Chris Cheigo, Matthew Dudman, Olga Gutkina, Michael Holden, Nipoli Kamdar, Dr. Assis Malaquias, Jennifer Metz, Dr. Ali Moradmand, Robert Neumann, Dr. Amy Parsons, Dr. Ariel Setniker, Dr. Joshua Shackman, Margaret Ward and Dr. Frank Yip on Faculty Appreciation Day.

These faculty members play a crucial role in creating a world-class undergraduate experience for cadet-athletes and their peers, which is why Athletics would like to express its gratitude and appreciation during that game.

The first test of the week will take place against Westcliff, a team that won its first two Cal Pac matchups until Saint Katherine prevented the Warriors from joining Cal Maritime as the only teams with a 3-0 conference record.

Since Westcliff competed as an independent before joining the Cal Pac in March of 2020, Thursday's battle is its inaugural meeting versus Cal Maritime.

With that result against Warriors, the Firebirds notched their third win in a row and will open a brief trip through Northern California on Thursday at Pacific Union. When it heads to Vallejo two days later, it will compete against a Keelhauler squad seeking its third-straight head-to-head victory.

Kody Clouet fueled the Firebirds' offense last week, which led to a pair of wins and Cal Pac Men's Basketball Player of the Week accolades when league officials announced their selection on Monday.

Against Antelope Valley, the freshman guard scored a career-high 30 points on 52 percent shooting from the floor. In USK's next game, the Warriors struggled to limit Clouet's productivity as he finished with a game-high 20 points and five rebounds.
