Miles Pennington named Cal Pac Player of the Week

VALLEJO, Calif. - Cal Maritime swept its inaugural set of conference games last week by defeating Saint Katherine and Westcliff at home, and enter this week's action atop the league's leaderboard. Playing a key role in the Keelhaulers' success was senior forward Miles Pennington, who earned Cal Pac Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career when announced on Monday. 

In last Thursday's Cal Pac opener vs. the Firebirds, Pennington recorded a season-high 23 points and collected seven rebounds; two days later against the Warriors, the native of Linda, California, notched his third career double-double by posting game-high totals of 13 points and 11 boards.

Men's basketball will seek its third win in a row when it heads to Angwin to square off against conference rival Pacific Union, Thursday's tipoff inside Covered Wagon is set for 8 p.m.
