There are two entrances to PEAC Main Gym that basketball fans can use: On the facility's second floor, next to the cardio room, and on the first floor next to PEAC Pool. VALLEJO, Calif. – Even though this week is the final one of the season, men's basketball knows at least one additional game will take place at the upcoming Cal Pac Men's Basketball Championship, hosted by Park Gilbert, after clinching a berth in its previous homestand.
This week's games will play a key role in determining Cal Maritime's seed at the league's annual postseason tournament, and its inaugural opponent, with nationally-ranked Antelope Valley and La Sierra slated to visit PEAC Main Gym throughout the upcoming days.
Thursday's league tilt versus the Pioneers will tip at 7:30 p.m.; even though Saturday's regular season finale against the Golden Eagles is set for 8:30 p.m., basketball fans are encouraged to arrive to campus and secure their seats by 8:15 p.m. to help the men's basketball program honor four cadet-athletes during a pregame Senior Night ceremony.
Since they will exhaust eligibility this season, Saturday's event against La Sierra marks the final home appearance for Braxton Adderly and Miles Pennington. The program will also recognize Divine Nwoko and Parker Wight since each completed respective academic requirements early, which created respective opportunities to graduate at the end of the current semester.
After defeating UC Merced in its final home game of the year last Saturday, Antelope Valley will head to Northern California on a 12-game overall and 11-game road win streak. Undefeated outside Lancaster this season, the Pioneers will wrap-up their season against CSUM and Pacific Union before heading to Arizona as the Cal Pac's regular season champion and the top seed at next week's tournament.
With seven of 12 victories earned inside PEAC Main Gym throughout the season, including the last five straight, the Keelhaulers' home court advantage has played an undeniable role in the team's success this season. With the team's final two pre-Championship tune-ups taking place in Vallejo, men's basketball would love nothing more than to earn a split of its season series against UAV and sweep LSU with another two positive home results.
Before its season ends against Cal Maritime, La Sierra will square off against Pacific Union and visit Angwin on a six-game slide.
When the Keelhaulers visited Riverside in mid-January for this season's series opener, Adderly and Lunden Taylor led the team with 16 and 14 points, respectively, in LSU's second home game of 2022-23.
