IRVINE, Calif. – Westcliff is currently one of the hottest teams in the Cal Pac Conference, and the Keelhaulers saw firsthand why as Westcliff jumped out to an early 20-10 lead and never looked back to extend its current win streak to seven by defeating Cal Maritime, 87-66.
Chris Herrera and DJ Henry led the Keelhaulers with 13 points apiece and DeAndre Minor added another 12 to complete CSUM's list of double-digit scorers.
Hererra also led CSUM with six rebounds.
Of Cal Maritime's 66 points, 32 were scored in the paint; it also scored seven more points off turnovers that its opponent by converting 15 Warrior miscues into 21 points.
Three-point shooting helped Westcliff sweep its weekend slate since its 11 baskets from distance were seven more than CSUM's field goal total from behind the arc.
Starting with Thursday's 7:30 p.m. matchup at PEAC Main Gym against La Sierra, the team's next three games will take place on its home court.
