Illyaas Rafiq named to Cal Pac’s Men’s Basketball All-Academic Team

CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. – Senior guard Illyaas Rafiq earned California Pacific Conference All-Academic Team distinction when conference officials unveiled their end-of-season honor roll. 

This is first time that Rafiq earned a spot on the All-Academic Team during his Cal Maritime career.

The senior business administration major earned his selection by possessing a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and maintaining one full year of residence as a sophomore or higher at Cal Maritime.

Rafiq is the second player in program history selected by the Cal Pac to receive this honor, Parker Wight was the first to receive this accolade following the conclusion of the 2021-22 season. 

Earlier this academic year, Rafiq was named a Winter Daktronics Student-Athlete by the NAIA when officials announced their national list of scholar-athletes for the winter term last February.
