VALLEJO, Calif. — Following its impressive debut on the road last week at Life Pacific, Cal Maritime will make a rare appearance at home in 2025 when it hosts Lincoln (CA) in Thursday's 7 p.m. non-conference matchup inside PEAC Main Gym.
Once this game concludes, men's basketball will not compete on its home court until December 17 when it hosts Pacific Union in a designated non-conference game between Cal Pac Conference teams in the first of two games on campus within two days (the other is against D-III Whittier College the next afternoon).
Between those home dates, men's basketball will spend the entire month of November on the road with games at La Sierra (11/9) and Bethesda (11/14) before the team heads to Redding for games hosted by Simpson against Corbin (11/21) and Bushnell (11/22). Also scattered throughout the month are three road exhibition games against Division II programs: Dominican (11/14), Jessup (11/26) and Stanislaus State (11/29).
Before the Keelhaulers pack their bags for an extended road swing, it will host Lincoln (CA) in its inaugural game of the year. The Oaklanders will face a Cal Maritime team coming off an impressive performance at Life Pacific, highlighted by four players who scored double figures, a team that shot 54 percent overall and led for all but a couple minutes of its season opener.
Thursday's game will serve as the home debut for 11 newcomers, a group that includes six junior transfers (Samrat Adhikary, Yanik Anderson, Nathan Johnston, Jordan Morency, Luka Popovic and Ivan Soto), one sophomore transfer (Amanjeet Chatha) and five true freshmen (Julian Dickins, Dominic Neel, Emerson Santos, Harrison Whittemore and Hunter Young).
Morency enjoyed an attention-grabbing debut in blue and gold by scoring 18 points on 6 of 10 shooting, hitting all six attempts at the free throw line while grabbing five rebounds.
The Keelhaulers won both games played last season against the Oaklanders, the only two matchups that comprise the all-time series.
