Cal Maritime sweeps Cal Pac’s inaugural set of weekly awards

CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. – Cal Pac Conference officials enhanced Cal Maritime's strong start to the season when they announced the first pair of weekly awards on Tuesday. When unveiled, Jordan Morency and Nick Stone received Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.

This is the first weekly award sweep in program history.

The pair played a key role in helping the Keelhaulers start the season with a 2-0 record by helping the team defeat Lincoln (CA) in last week's 2025-26 home opener.

Morency led the team in scoring against Lincoln (CA) in his home debut, shot 9 of 12 overall and finished one rebound shy of recording his first double-double of the season, collecting a game-high four rebounds — half of the Oaklanders' total — on the offensive glass.

Stone, who hails from Sacramento, did finish with a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds — nearly one-third of Lincoln (CA)'s 34 rebounds as a team. In addition to posting his first double-double as a Keelhaulers and a new career high for rebounds in a single game, the reigning Freshman of the Year finished with four assists and two steals.

Cal Maritime's schedule for the week is a quiet one, but its lone game will take the team to Riverside, California, to face La Sierra in Sunday's 3 p.m. matchup.
