Cal Maritime Crew Kicks Off Fall Season

The Cal Maritime crew team kicked off its fall racing season yesterday with a very solid showing at the Head of the Pacific regatta in Stockton, taking three second-place finishes. The weather was fair for the 5,000-meter race, with partly cloudy skies and only a slight breeze. In the men's collegiate novice eight, the crew of Andrew Autore (coxswain), Tyler Brown, Eric Lingauer, Kyle Pingrey, Kevin Butterworth, Ryan Ham, Josh Smith, James Drury, and Pavel Gorodnichin finished in 2^nd place in a time of 22:32.99. In the women's open Four, the crew of Leah Todd (coxswain), Nicole Moss, Jordan Finks, Hayley Scheidemantle, and Victoria Rodriguez finished 2^nd in a time of 23:53.03. And in the men's open four, the varsity crew of Leah Todd (coxswain), Paul Beck, Kellen Parrish, Brad Miller, and Holden Peck finished 2^nd in 19:26.9, while the novice crew of Devon Coyl (coxswain), Jonathan Prall, Trevor Fuller, David Capron, and Josh Church took 6^th in 21:55.6.
