Crew Teams start season strong in Sacramento
Cal Maritime Crew had three top-three finishes at the Head of the Port Regatta, including a first-place finish in the Men's Open Four.
The Cal Maritime crew team traveled to West Sacramento this weekend for the Head of the Port regatta where conditions were excellent, with flat water and sunny skies.
The Keelhaulers competed in three races – the Women's Collegiate Four, Men's Open Four, and Men's Open Eight.
The Women's Four finished third in their race with a time of 25:58.0 on the 5,000-meter course. The Men's A Four earned a first-place finish in their race with a time of 19:31.0, and the B Four group finished fifth in a time of 22:34.0.
In the Men's Open Eight, the varsity crew, which included five rowers hotseating from the fours, finished second in 19:16.0. The Men's Novice Eight finished sixth in 25:39.0.
