Rugby notches win in final preseason test

It was a nice exhibition win for the Keelhaulers as they beat the University of San Diego 15-5 in front of some strong, So-Cal alumni supporters.

The Keelhaulers got tries from Daynon Matthews & Matthew Michaud, and Michael Mukuru-Tumusiime was good on one conversion and one penalty. It was a really hard fought game, with more inensity than most exhibitions, quite possibly due to the Cal Maritime supporters in attendance.

All of the scoring occurred in the first half as both teams buckled down defensively to thwart multiple scoring chances for each side in the 2nd half.

UP NEXT: Things get real on Dec. 1 at 3:30 p.m. as the Keelhaulers kick off the season at home vs. Hombolt State.
