Keelhaulers dominate SRJC

Cal Maritime Rugby mowed down Santa Rosa Junior College 33-5 on Saturday afternoon, improving to 2-0 in league play on the season.

The Keelhaulers jumped out to an 18-0 lead in the first half with tries from junior Wyatt Juntunen and senior Michael Mukuru-Tumusiime and Phoenix Benitez along with a penalty kick from Mukuru-Tumusiime.

Cal Maritime gave up an early second-half try to SRJC before bearing down on the tenacious Bear Cubs and running in three more tries. Benetiz scored for the second time on the day and senior Pierce Young and junior Michael Michaud added tries as well.

UP NEXT: The Keehaulers will be on the road again as they'll head to Stockton, Calf. to take on the University of the Pacific at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 2.
