Bio

To me, sports have always been a huge part of my life. I have been playing soccer since I could walk and don't know what I would do without it. In high school, I was a part of 5 varsity sports. Playing all these sports would keep me busy after school rather than getting myself into trouble. High school sports really made me care about my grades and realize how important school actually was. Without maintaining my grades I would not be eligible to play, so I made myself step it up in the classrooms. I really think I have carried over these good habits into my collegiate athletics. Without soccer I would be lost in life.

I have always had the same answer to this question of my most memorable moment in sports up until last Sunday. My senior year of high school my father came to California from England to visit me. I hadn't seen my father in 3 years, nor had he been to California in over 10 years. This was going to be the first time he would see me play competitive soccer. It was a league conference home game under the lights at Oakland Tech. We were playing Castlemont High, one of our rival schools. The score was tie at 0-0 at half. I went on to score two goals in the second half, one off a header and another off a shot, leading our team to a 3-0 victory. This was an extremely special moment for me because my dad was there to witness it. Last Sunday, 10/17/10, Cal Maritime played Pacific Union College at Bodnar field. The Cal Maritime soccer team had not won a game in over two years. This is my third year of participation. The score was tied 1-1 midway through the second half. I scored a bicycle kick assisted by Daniel Milward to put our team up 2-1. We went on to win the game. It was an amazing feeling to score such a highly technical goal in front of our home crowd and for it to stand as the winning goal. These two moments have really humbled me as a person. I will always think back at these two moments and remember my family, friends, and teammates who were there for support.
