Men's Soccer drops season finale 6-1
The Keelhaulers started with the great energy and confidence they had shown in their 2-game win streak, but had that momentum taken away by the Bethesda flames as a rebound led to Bethesda's first goal and open the flood gates.
The flames pushed envelope on offsides racking up more than a dozen by halftime, but it didn't seem like they cared, as it was worth the risk to get breakaways because of it.
Freshman Ezra Dickens scored the lone goal for the Keelhaulers (3-11, 3-8 in the California Pacific Conference). His four goals on the year are the most by a Cal Maritime player since Patrick Wehan had five in 2015. David Henderson had seven saves in goal for Cal Maritime.
For the Keelhaulers, the 14 goals scored in 2018 represents the most in a single season since 2013. The 140 shots taken is also the most since 2013. The three wins on the season were the Keelhaulers most since 2011 when they won five games overall and four games in a very different Cal Pac Conference.
The future does look bright for the Keelhaulers if the young talent they have remains in tact.
