Cal Maritime men's soccer welcomes Cade Weatherbie
VALLEJO, Calif. – Cade Weatherbie, a 5-foot-11 center defenseman and midfielder from Everett, Washington, will continue his education and athletic career at Cal Maritime, as announced by head coach Mike Carvalho.
"I am very excited about this opportunity, the marine transportation major and family that live throughout the Bay Area led me to Cal Maritime."
The three-year letterwinner at Kamiak High School also competed for Washington Surf Soccer and Washington Sound soccer in recent years.
Throughout his club career, Weatherbie played a key role in helping Washington Surf win a Rainier Challenge championship. As a member of Washington Sound, the team collected State Cup titles in 2019 and 2022, in addition to Northwest Conference and National League Pro crowns this calendar year.
As someone who possesses a passion for the sea, Weatherbie felt a Cal Maritime degree was the best way to help him shape a career as a harbor pilot or tugboat captain.
