VALLEJO, Calif. - A packed Bodnar Field arrived early on Saturday to help men's soccer honor senior David Drongpa during its pregame Senior Day ceremony, then watched Cal Maritime's defense stifle one of the most dangerous offenses in the Cal Pac Conference once action commenced.
Don't let the 4-0 final score fool you, Cal Maritime frustrated UC Merced, a team that arrived to Bodnar Field in second place, and held them to a pair of goals until the Bobcats tacked on another two late in the afternoon in both teams' season finale.
Cal Maritime ends the 2022 season with a 1-15-1 overall and 1-11 Cal Pac record; UC Merced will enter the league's postseason tournament at 11-1-5 and 8-0-4, respectively.
