Cal Maritime drops road opener at Jessup

ROCKLIN, Calif. - Playing in only its second game of the season, and first on the road, Cal Maritime traveled to Warrior Field to face a Jessup squad competing in its 10th game of 2023.

Mateo Sanchez led all Keelhaulers with two shots, both on goal, and Gregg Aguilar's attempt was thwarted as the pair combined for three of the team's five shots on goal. 

Outside of a couple pockets of time — one in each half — that saw the Warriors score twice before halftime, and another four within a handful of minutes late in the afternoon , the Keelhaulers provided a stiff test to their hosts in a game that ended in Jessup's favor by a 6-0 result.

A busy week for CSUM will continue on Friday when it heads to Simpson for its 2:30 p.m. Cal Pac Conference opener with a 0-2 overall record. The Warriors will continue their season at 4-3-1.
