VALLEJO, Calif. – Prior to the start of Saturday's match at Bodnar Field, seniors Luis Adame and Josh Kuiper were surrounded by friends, family members and loved ones as the program honored each on Senior Day.
Once action began, fans were treated to a hard-fought match between these local foes until one bad minute in the first half created a challenge CSUM could not overcome.
Trailing 2-0 entering the final minutes before halftime, UC Merced slowly pulled away to eventually defeat the Keelhaulers, 8-0.
Men's soccer's season-ending homestand will conclude Tuesday afternoon when UC Santa Cruz visits campus for a 5 p.m. non-conference matchup.
