VALLEJO, Calif. – Prior to Friday's Cal Pac Conference game vs. Pacific Union, Cal Maritime honored its eight-member graduating class — Gregg Aguilar, Noah Anderson, Luka Bilaver, Nico De Simas, Jose Diaz, Fabian Garcia, Matias Vidal-Mackay and Cade Weatherbie — alongside their friends, family and loved ones in a pregame Senior Day ceremony since Friday's game was the final home men's soccer event of the 2025 season.
Scoreless at halftime, a Pacific Union header in the 52nd minute pushed it ahead with plenty of time left to play. Unfortunately for Cal Maritime, two PUC counterattacks led to another pair of goals midway through the second half that resulted in a 3-1 victory for the visiting Pioneers.
Led by De Simas and Diaz with three shots apiece, Cal Maritime outshot the Pioneers, 14-10; that duo was responsible for half of their team's six shots on goal.
With this result, Cal Maritime is officially eliminated from postseason play.
Men's soccer will head to UC Santa Cruz for Sunday's regular season finale, kickoff against the Banana Slugs is set for 1 p.m.
