VALLEJO, Calif. – Cal Maritime's block of home action will continue throughout Keelhauler Days weekend when men's water polo hosts the CWPA Tournament at PEAC Pool on Saturday, October 7, and Sunday, October 8.

This two-day-long event followed the California Pacific Conference's Round Robin, the inaugural men's water polo event in league history, also hosted by Cal Maritime on Sunday, September 24.

The Keelhaulers' four-game slate will start at 9 a.m. when they host Cal State Monterey Bay in the tournament's opening match, followed by a 12:30 p.m. matchup against UC Santa Cruz.

Sunday's schedule includes the marquee game of the weekend when CSUM squares off against local rival Cal, at 1:40 p.m., prior to its 3:55 p.m. tournament finale vs. San José State.

Cal Maritime and Cal are quite familiar with one another due to numerous instant classics that took place post-COVID. The Golden Bears and Keelhaulers advanced to the CWPA postseason tournament's championship match in each of the last two seasons, contests won by Cal by the slightest of margins each time.

Also visiting Vallejo throughout the weekend are Chico State and Stanford.

This weekend's event provides the Keelhaulers with the perfect opportunity to make appropriate mid-season adjustments since the CWPA's postseason tournament is slated for October 14-15 at PEAC Pool. Positive results throughout the upcoming weekend will help the team enter the Sierra Pacific Division Tournament with momentum and secure the smoothest possible path to the league's championship game.

The winner of that October 15 showdown will punch its ticket to the national tournament as the recipient of the conference's automatic bid.
