Keelhaulers making progress at Santa Clara
Sunnyvale, Ca. – The Men's Cross Country team took part in the Santa Clara Open on Oct 15th at Baylands Regional Park in Sunnyvale, Ca. The race was hosted by Santa Clara University. Cal Maritime prepared for wet conditions but at the start of the race, the course and the weather were ideal.
Charlie Wiswall led all Keelhaulers with a near PR, coming in 5 seconds slower than his best effort which was at Santa Clara 2 years ago. Dylan Croeni made his season debut with the Keelhaulers finishing second for the team. Oliver Chen and Mathieu Zamora both PR'd on the fast track, with Mathieu shaving off nearly 2 ½ minutes off his previous best. Oliver cut nearly 2 minutes off his earlier top time. Andrew Bichlmeier continues to progress, dropping his time for the 4th consecutive week. With 2 races left in the season, the senior is posed to PR before the season is over.
The Keelhaulers head north to Rocklin, Ca. to participate in the William Jessup Invitational held at Springview Park on Oct 22nd. The men will line up at the starting line at 10:00 am in the final race before the Cal Pac Championships which will be held in Fresno, Ca. on Oct 31st.
