Warrior Invite provides final prep before upcoming Cal Pac Championship

ROCKLIN, Calif. – With the Cal Pac's annual men's and women's cross country postseason tournament rapidly approaching, Cal Maritime took full advantage of an opportunity to return to Rocklin, California, to compete on William Jessup's On Campus Course during Saturday's Warrior Invite.

With the women's squad competing as individuals, Julia Mast was the first CSUM harrier to complete the 5K course when she crossed the line in 27:40.18 for 42nd place. Finishing two runners later was Safari Frisell, followed by her sister, Raven Frisell; the former ran a 28:12.21 and the latter posted a 34:53.77.

On the men's side, CSUM finished seventh as a team, led by freshman Michael Lapinski's 8K run of 28:07.32, followed right behind by Nick Yarusso who finished three seconds following his teammate.

Trevor Hodges and Harry Brag were the next CSUM pair to place; they finished 53rd and 59th, respectively, with times of 29:25.71 and 31:22.36. Finishing 11 seconds after Bragg was Nolan Bronstrup, the final Cal Maritime runner to score points for the Keelhaulers.

Once both cross country teams return to campus, attention will shift toward the conference's year-end meet, slated for Friday, November 4, at Woodward Park in Fresno.
