Why are sports so important in your life

They let you get away from school work and if you are like me and enjoy competition, they allow you to go out against other schools and compete. In the sailing world especially, it's alot of fun to go to regattas because you get to know so many sailors that you see at most regattas allowing for great friendships and competition.

What is the most memorable sports achievement in your life and has it changed you as a person and athlete?.

Placing 2nd US team in the Governor's Cup match racing regatta was a real big achievement for our team. It opened so many new doors, including the qualification for the World Junior Match Racing Championships in Auckland, New Zealand. It has changed me as a sailor, showing that if we are really on our game we can be a pretty competitive team and hopefully win more regattas to come.
