Sailing Team Receives Prestigious Award

The California Maritime Academy Sailing team was recognized by the city of Vallejo Tuesday night in a ceremony at City Hall. Cadets Matthew Van Rensselaer '13 and Sara Himes '12, representing the California Maritime Academy Offshore Sailing team, received the Mayor's Image Award from Councilwoman Joanne Schivley. The award recognized the accomplishments of the 2009 team including winning the Intercollegiate Offshore Sailing Championship and going on to represent the United States at the Student Yachting World Cup.
