Cal Maritime squads finish top-3 in all competitions at Stoney Burke

SAN FRANCISCO - The Cal Maritime sailing team took third place out of 15 teams in the varsity competition while finishing first and second in the junior varsity races at this weekend's Stoney Burke Regatta in San Francisco Bay.

The varsity team (102 points) of Jacob Fisker-Andersen, Casey Tolan, Kyle Collins and Justin Zmina finished behind only the University of Hawaii (79 points) and UC Santa Barbara A (99 points), edging UCSB B (103 points) by a single point for a podium finish.

"Going into this event we were really trying to see the talent level of our teams," said Zmina. "We can clearly see that we have some rockstar up-and-comers who will fit perfectly into Cal Maritime's illustrious sailing team."

The Keelhaulers finished ahead of many of the best programs on the West Coast including Cal, USC and UC San Diego.
