VALLEJO, Calif. – A busy month of April, which features five regattas in four weeks, will begin at a familiar location for Cal Maritime Sailing when 18 Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference teams — Arizona State, Cal, Cal Poly, Cal Maritime, Cal State Channel Islands, Cal State Monterey Bay, Hawai'i, Long Beach State, San Diego State, Santa Clara, Stanford, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UCLA, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, and USC — visit Vallejo to compete in the North Designate.
Competition will take place at Morrow Cove/Cal Maritime Boat Basin; spectators can watch teams compete anywhere alongside lower campus' waterfront. Food and drinks available for the public to purchase at The Marketplace, Cal Maritime's main dining hall, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. throughout the weekend.
Participating teams will use Collegiate Flying Juniors, competition is slated to begin each day at 11 a.m. One entry per school will participate in a two-division regatta that will rotate every two races.
Following the PCCSC North Designate, Cal Maritime will head to Santa Barbara for the PCCSC Spring Championship (April 8-9) before hosting the Keelhauler Open on April 16 and 17. The team will split its squad for its final events of the season, the Anteater Open and Rainier Cup — regattas slated for the weekend of April 23-24.
