Personal: Majoring in marine transportation… Team captain & Team MVP at Patrick Henry High School in San Diego… Chose Cal Maritime because of his passion for the ocean, driven by a childhood spent on the water… Best memory as a cadet-athlete involved winning the Harbor Cup for the camaraderie, experience and, of course, the win… His father, Matt Smith competed in several America Cups… Personal heroes are his father and Frank Worsley (Captain of the Endurance)… Hobbies include backpacking and fishing… Roots for Team New Zealand in the America’s Cup and San Diego State in college football.
