Nick Mueller finishes third in Keelhaulers' season opener

Final Results

SEATTLE — Freshman Nick Mueller ended his inaugural regatta as a Keelhauler by finishing third, one point shy of second place, at the PCCSC Singlehanded Championship, hosted by Washington in Seattle.

This two-day event started strong for Mueller as he finished second in the first of nine races that took place on Saturday, following by his inaugural first-place result at the collegiate level two races later.

As was the case with Stanford's Jack Baldwin and Hawai'i's Erik Anderson, who ended the event in first and second place, respectively, that pair and Mueller placed within the top three in all nine races that took place at Shilshole Bay throughout the Singlehanded Championship.

Unfortunately for the field, poor winds prevented anyone from racing on Sunday since competitors spent the morning on wind delay until competition was halted at 12:30 p.m.

Up next for Cal Maritime is its inaugural offshore event of the 2023-24 season, one that will take the Keelhaulers to Annapolis, Maryland for the Shields Cup. This three-day regatta will commence on Friday, September 29.
