Sailing returns to Redwood City for Top-9 Invite

VALLEJO, Calif. – Cal Maritime's dinghy sailing team will head to Redwood City for the weekend, to compete against the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference's top teams, at the Top-9 Invite — a two-day event hosted by Stanford.
In last October's Top-9 event that took place at the Arrillaga Family Rowing and Sailing Center, Cal Maritime finished fifth.
Even though inclement weather is forecasted for the weekend, as of the time of this release, race officials are still planning to conduct this regatta and commence racing each day at 11 a.m. No race will begin after 5 p.m. on Saturday or 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The PCCSC's top nine teams will compete against one another in this open fleet race with participants sailing 420s on Saturday and FJs the following day.
Off last weekend since the Slug Open was cancelled by race officials in the days leading up to the event, Cal Maritime will return to racing for the first time since winning the Mustang Open Team Race, which took place throughout February's first weekend.
