VALLEJO, Calif. – For its final event of the month, Cal Maritime will return to a familiar location when it returns to the Morro Bay Yacht Club to compete in the Mustang Open.
Three weekends ago, the Keelhaulers traveled to the same location to compete in the Mustang Open Team Race, also hosted by Cal Poly. That weekend, CSUM defeated UCLA, USC and the event hosts in head-to-head competition to win that regatta as the only team with an undefeated record.
First warning for each day is set for 11 a.m., no races will start on Sunday after 3:30 p.m.
Participating schools will compete in two divisions with a traditional low point scoring system used to determine this regatta's champion.
Following a busy month of February, one that saw an event scheduled every weekend, Cal Maritime's March schedule is lighter, by comparison.
Since no events are currently scheduled for next weekend, CSUM will return to competition on the weekend of March 9-10 when its heads to the St. Francis Yacht Club to participate in the St. Francis Invite. The PCCSC South Designate, taking place at the US Sailing Center in Long Beach is the other regatta on the team's slate; that two-day event will commence on March 23.
