Nick Mueller and Gavin Steuerwald nab All-PCCSC accolades
VALLEJO, Calif. – Nick Mueller and Gavin Steuerwald are the latest names on Cal Maritime Sailing's exclusive list of All- Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference selections when conference officials announced this year's honor roll. Mueller was one of 10 student-athletes named to the Open Skipper list with Steuerwald earning his spot as one of the league's top 10 Crews.
Past Keelhauler All-PCCSC selections include Jacob Fisker-Anderson (2021-22, Skipper), Ryan Downey (Skipper) and Etienne Quille (Crew) following the conclusion of the 2022-23 season and last year's honorees, Clay Myers (Skipper) and Quille (Crew).
The criteria for which the PCCSC All-Conference Team is available within the PCCSC's Standing Rules.
A committee comprised of at least three PCCSC executive committee members, including (at minimum) one graduate and one undergraduate selected honorees based on sailors that excelled in performance within the PCCSC and the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association.
The All-Conference Team is selected based on performance within the PCCSC then ranked based on performance within the entire ICSA. There are no more than 10 selected athletes for the following categories: Crew, Women's Skipper and Open Skipper. Additional individual recipients for Woman Skipper of the Year, Open Skipper of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Student Leader of the Year and Sportsmanship of the Year were selected, this year's winners were (alphabetical order by award):
Open Skipper of the Year - Lucas Woodworth (Stanford; Junior)
Rookie of the Year - Dylan Sih (Stanford; Sophomore)
Student Leader - Beverly Schimmel (San Diego State; Junior)
Sportsmanship - Eric Anderson (Hawai'i; Junior)
Woman Skipper of the Year - Vanessa Lahrkamp (Stanford; Junior)
