In the co-ed varsity division, Cal Maritime will compete against Cal, Cal Poly, Cal State Channel Islands, Northwestern, San Diego State, Santa Clara, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UC Santa Cruz, UCLA, USC and Western Washington. Comprising the JV regatta field are Arizona State, Cal, Cal Maritime, Cal Poly, Cal State Monterey Bay, Nevada, San Diego State, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UC Santa Cruz, UCLA and USC.

Each school can enter one varsity co-ed team and unlimited JV teams.

At last weekend's regatta, the UCSD Open, the Keelhaulers finished second out of 24 schools and enjoyed consistent sailing at the Mission Bay Yacht Club. Only USC won more individual rounds than Cal Maritime, leading to a regatta victory.

That was the second competition in as many weekends in San Diego; the previous week saw Tate Oyler, a freshman skipper, lead his crew to third place at the Richard Sweet Match Race Championship.

The program's highlight of the season took place during the first weekend of the season when Nick Mueller won the PCCSC Men's Singlehanded Championship to earn a berth in November's National Singlehanded Championship for the second season in a row.
