VALLEJO, Calif. – Cal Maritime will remain local for its next pair of regattas, and look to continue its blistering start to the season when it heads to Redwood City for the PCCSC Women's Fall Championship and Top-9 Fall Invite.
The PCCSC event is a combined-division competition with scores from two days of racing determining team's overall standing. A first-place finish will result in one point scored, a second-place result earns two points, and continues until all boats finish a race. Points are earned regardless of which divisional boat scored.
If possible, the regatta will include combined divisions with 18 races scheduled in each division.
Saturday's racing will use 420s with FJs used in Sunday's competition.
As the regatta's name indicates, the Top-9 Fall Invite includes nine West Coast teams that received an invite by race officials to compete. Representing the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference, besides the Keelhaulers, are Cal Poly, Hawai'i, San Diego State, Stanford, UC Santa Barbara and USC; Washington and Western Washington will complete the field representing the Northwest Intercollegiate Sailing Association.
