Sports are an extremely important part of my life because almost all of my family and friends are involved in the sports I play. My dad has always been my coach and role model and most of my best friends have been the people I have played on sports teams with in middle school, high school and college. Sports have also brought my family closer because my mom, dad, sister and brother are my biggest fans and try to come to all of my games and tournaments no matter how far away they are. As an athlete, sports have taught me to be a better person who is disciplined, focused, confident, motivated, and driven.

When I was in 7th grade I went to Nationals in New Orleans, Louisiana with my AAU team, the Mission Rec Rebels. In the last five seconds of the game we were down by 2 points and my coach put me in to hit the game winning 3-pointer. Coach Oscar drew up a play and was confident that I would make it, and I knew I could make it too. I made the shot at the buzzer and we advanced to the next round of Nationals. After that experience I realized that if I could succeed under that much pressure, I could do anything and make any shot when I had confidence in myself.
