Keelhaulers Defeat Simpson in an Overtime Thriller

Cal Maritime Women's Basketball Team Snaps losing streak with 97-90 O.T Win

The Cal Maritime women's basketball team broke their 5 game losing streak with a 97-90 win over Simpson Univiersity Saturday night. The Keelhaulers got an outstanding team effort in scoring a season high 97 points. Leading the way was Tatjana Pitts with a season high 25 points and 9 rebounds and Julia Tani added 23 points going 5/9 from 3 point range. Jordan Mootz played great with a double double pf 12 points and 10 rebounds and Shante Sands added 13. Sarah Guerrero also pitched in with 11 points.

Javier Brantley's 3 pt shot with 4.5 seconds left tied the game at the end of regulation 88-88 and the Kellhaulers outscored Simpson 9-2 in the extra period to get their first Cal Pac win of the season.

Cal Maritime improves their record to 1-5 in the Cal-Pac and 8-12 overall. They host Pacific Union College on Tuesday night on the CMA campus
