Pitts and Sands Earn All Conference Recognition

Seniors Tatjana Pitts and Shante Sands were recognized as All Conference perfomers when the California Pacific Conference awards were announced today.

Menlo guard Jolise Limcaco earned her second California Pacific Conference Player of the Year award in as many seasons, after leading the No. 14 Lady Oaks to a perfect 12-0 run through the conference.

Five other players were selected to the Cal Pac's First Team for the second year in a row. Joining Limcaco for another season are teammate Laurel Donnenwirth, William Jessup's Ashley Rose and Sarah Petersen, Simpson's Nichole Jones, and UC Merced's Shelby Howard. Menlo sophomore Vanessa D'Amico also earned First Team distinction; other first year honorees include Natalia Hawthorne and Joirdan Jones of La Sierra and Cal Maritime's Pitts, who was named to the Second Team last winter.

Menlo head coach Shannon Osborne was picked by her peers as the Coach of the Year—her third consecutive honor. In addition to the skills and leadership of Limcaco, Osborne benefited from the outstanding defensive play of Donnenwirth, who was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year.

Alexis Wu of UC Merced was voted the Newcomer of the Year by the Cal Pac coaches, who also named London Robinson as the conference's Freshman of the Year.
