Fresno City College's Kaylor Kovacevich has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Cal Maritime as announced by head coach Mike Warrington. The 6' Kovacevich, who plays guard, was a starter for Fresno City College this past season. Kaylor helped lead the Rams to a 29-4 record and a trip to the Final Four of the California Community College State Championships in 2013-14. In her two years with the Rams Kaylor was part of two Central Valley Conference championships and helped the Rams to an overall record of 59 wins 8 losses and two Final Four appearances.
"Kaylor's tenacity on the defensive end of the court is something special. With her height, length and incredible determination she can guard multiple positions extremely well. With her size and skill set she will be extremely effective playing on the wing for us. Kaylor posses all the qualities we are looking for here at Cal Maritime. She is an outstanding student, a great person and a fantastic basketball player" said head coach Mike Warrington.
When asked why she chose Cal Maritime, Kovacevich responded by saying, "I decided to come to Cal Maritime because of the possible job opportunities the school opens for its students. Also, because I really like the Coach and the girls on the team; I feel the program is the right fit for me to grow even more as a player and a person."
