Jenifer Keys Brings Winning Ways to Cal Maritime

Cal Maritime head women's basketball coach Mike Warrington has announced the signing of Jenifer Keys for the 2014-15 season. Jenifer has been a winner wherever she has played. Last season at San Joaquin Delta College Keys helped the Mustangs to a Big 8 conference championship, a 27-6 overall record and an appearance in the Final Four of the California Community College Championships. In her two years at Delta her teams had a 48-15 record. In high school at Deer Valley High School in Antioch her teams won two Bay Valley Conference championships going undefeated in league both her junior and senior years.

Jenifer will bring speed, quickness and athleticism to the Keelhaulers' back court. As a guard she is very skilled on offense as well as being an excellent defender. Coach Warrington commented, "Jenifer is an outstanding athlete with very good skills. She has the physical tools and mindset to be a great defender as well as the skill set on offense to make an immediate impact for us. She comes from two great programs in Delta and Deer Valley where she competed against the top talent in the State. She is fearless and doesn't back down from the toughest challenges."

When Keys was asked about her decision to attend CMA she responded by saying, "I decided to come to Cal Maritime because of the academic and the athletic opportunities. Along with the opportunity of joining an up and coming program, I'll also be receiving great academic and career training. Next year I'm looking forward to the new experiences at school, but most importantly my new journey as a lady Keelhauler."
