Pacific Auditorium (aka Covered Wagon) – Angwin, Calif.
VALLEJO, Calif. – After starting its league slate last weekend inside PEAC Main Gym, Cal Maritime will head to Angwin for its first Cal Pac road game of the season, scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m.
These teams split the season series from 2018-2020 — action did not take place in 2021 due to COVID — with the Keelhaulers leading the all-time series, 20-8, which includes a 9-5 record in the last 14 played inside Pacific Auditorium, also known as Covered Wagon.
In its last game, women's basketball's defense shined throughout the opening quarters vs. Saint Katherine until the Firebirds simply pulled away from the Keelhaulers as the game continued. In that matchup, junior forward Alicia Porter posted her second double-double, in as many games, by finishing with 18 points and 13 rebounds — both team highs.
Two days prior vs. Westcliff, Porter led all Keelhaulers with 12 points and 14 rebounds in her team's Cal Pac opener.
Entering this weekend's action, she is ranked No. 2 in rebounding and No. 14 in scoring, among all league players, with her respective 8.1 and 10.7 per game averages.
Buoyed by her career-high 10 boards collected throughout last Saturday's game against USK, the second double-digit total of her career, freshman forward Dylan Fulton is one of the league's top rebounders since her 5.8 rpg is the seventh-highest individual figure.
Due to COVID protocols, Pacific Union was unable to play its first nine games scheduled throughout the month of January and will face Cal Maritime in its first conference matchup and inaugural game of the 2022 calendar year. The Pioneers last official event took place at home on December 5 against Simpson; their 56-day hiatus will end on Sunday against the Keelhaulers.
