VALLEJO, Calif. – Cal Maritime entered a portion of its schedule that includes five of six games on its home court by hosting Simpson in Thursday's Cal Pac contest at PEAC Main Gym.
Alicia Porter ended her night with 28 points and 15 rebounds, both game highs, and Dylan Fulton finished with 10 points, but it was the Red Hawks' hot start — they scored 25 of the opening quarter's 31 points — that led to a 91-55 victory versus the Keelhaulers.
Saturday's 5:30 p.m. matchup at UC Merced is the lone road game taking place throughout the upcoming weeks; women's basketball will return to action with a 1-14 overall and 1-10 Cal Pac record.
With Thursday's result, Simpson will remain in second place records of 12-7 and 9-2.
Following its upcoming battle against the Bobcats, Cal Maritime will face Pacific Union (Jan. 28), Embry-Riddle (Feb. 2), Benedictine Mesa (Feb. 3) and Park Gilbert (Feb. 5) before heading to Southern California the following week for its final pair of road events.
