Marissa Serrano and Angelo Nicandro named Cal Pac Basketball Champions of Character
VALLEJO, Calif. – Seniors Marissa Serrano and Angelo Nicandro were named Cal Pac Women's and Men's Basketball Champions of Character, respectively, when conference officials announced its end-of-season honor roll.
The California Pacific Conference is a perennial NAIA Conference of Character, a distinction made possible by member institutions' commitment to the Association's five core values of a Champion of Character: respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, and servant-leadership.
At the conclusion of each sport season, the Cal Pac recognizes an individual from each institution who best represents those core values. The men's and women's basketball coaches select and honor their players.
"This is a big honor, chosen by the head coaches," said conference commissioner Dr. Don Ott. "These student-athletes stood out among their teammates for living out the values of the NAIA and the Cal Pac. We congratulate each one."
Nicandro is a two-time Champion of Character selection, Serrano received this honor for the first time in her Cal Maritime career.
