Cal Pac bestows season’s first Offensive Player of the Week Award to Aysia Santos
CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. – Thanks to an outstanding start to her season, Cal Pac Conference officials named senior forward Aysia Santos its inaugural recipient of the Offensive Player of the Week Award.
The Chula Vista native led Cal Maritime in scoring with 17 and 20 points in games at Pacific Union and at home vs. Simpson and shot 13-for-25 combined in Cal Maritime's first two games to post a combined overall shooting percentage of .520.
Santos also collected four rebounds, four steals and one assist in the Keelhaulers' road season opener at Pacific Union and followed that with five rebounds — her team's second-highest total — two assists and a steal less that 24 hours later in her team's home opener against Simpson.
Cal Maritime returns to PEAC Main Gym tonight (November 4), to host Ottawa (AZ) at 5:30 p.m. before playing its next five straight on the road, starting with games this Saturday and Sunday at Life Pacific (5:30 p.m.) and at La Sierra (1 p.m.).
